Meat Cutter

We are seeking individuals with meat cutting or butcher experience to join our team. Work may include removing viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses, cutting into primal cuts for further cutting, deboning meat, cutting meat into specific cuts as per customer requirements. You will follow Canadian Industry standards in meat cutting.

You must be able to assemble/disassemble equipment, operate a band saw, meat grinders, and sausage making equipment. Must have efficient knife skills in deboning, trimming and preparing meat cuts and sausages. Knowledge of spices and ingredients functionality is also an asset. You should be capable of working in a cold, physically demanding environment where standing is required for extended periods.

 

A successful candidate for this position should meet this description listed below;

  • Previous meat cutting/butchering experience is preferred

  • Reliable and dependable, able to be at work when scheduled, on time.

  • Able to work in a fast paced and repetitive task environment.

  • Has the desire to learn.

  • Physically fit and able to lift, push, and/or pull, weight of up to 50 lbs.

  • Be willing to adhere to all hygienic and food safety requirements.

  • Have effective communication skills (listen, understand, speak, read, write)

  • Be legally able to work in Canada.

This job position is located at the facility 30 min west of Ponoka so it will most likely require a reliable means of transportation to work.
