Where does your meat come from?
Our beef, pork, and poultry is sourced from our own local small family farm. From pasture to plate WS Foods maintains control, so you can be assured our humane and naturally raised meat is processed into products of high quality.
Is your beef from Angus cattle?
Yes, our beef comes from the popular breed of Red Angus cattle.
Is your meat grass fed?
Our beef is raised for much of its life on grass pastures along with harvested vegetation such as hay during the other seasons, however pork and poultry are not so much grazing animals.
Is your meat organic?
Our meat is not certified organic. However, it is still wholesome, natural, free from added artificial hormones or steroids and non-therapeutic antibiotics. WS Foods can provide a more cost effective means, rather than Certified Organic sources, to address similar legitimate important concerns.
Can you make special or custom cuts for me?
Absolutely. Give us your requests. Call or check out our feedback/suggestion box. We will make arrangements.
Do you do fresh and frozen products?
We deal mostly in frozen products, however it is possible to make arrangements for fresh products with advanced notice.
Do you deliver?
With a minimum size order and on a case by case basis we could arrange a delivery. Give us a call to work something out. WS Foods is located in Ponoka County, North of Crestomere. We provide quality products, butcher and meat processing services to the neighboring communities in central Alberta such as Ponoka, Lacombe, Rimbey, Bluffton, Blackfalds, Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, or Edmonton areas. Advanced notice for orders is preferred, but if we can't coordinate a drop off, then come pick up your order at the shop/farm. Or catch us next time at a farmers market near you.
Will you process my wild game meat?
Yes, we offer wild game processing services including cutting, packaging, as well as sausage and jerky making. We are not able to accept carcasses which do not adhere to the requirements in the Alberta hunting regulations. The hunter must be able to present their hunting license, tag #, and WIN at drop off.
The evidence of sex, species, or class must be retained, but the viscera should be removed. The carcass should be field dressed, clean, and cooled as soon as possible before arrival to the WS Foods facility.
Freezer burnt, dirty, hairy, or meat that is unfit for consumption may be refused.
